Greenwich Hospital Office of Development: COVID-19 Support Funds
Dear Valued Friend of Greenwich Hospital,
Many of you have asked us how you can support Greenwich Hospital, our patients and hospital providers during this critical time. We are touched by your compassion and willingness to help. The biggest impact you can have is through a monetary donation.
The Greenwich Hospital Office of Development has established two emergency funds which will provide critical support to the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. One support fund will be directed toward capital expenses, including equipment. The second support fund will be dedicated toward operational expenses. It will enable our clinical staff to sustain their resilience and continue to provide safe, high-quality care to our patients and community.
As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, demand may increase or change. The COVID-19 Support Funds are designed to provide assistance as needs are identified during this unprecedented crisis. All gifts must be made online.
With our deepest gratitude,
Noël Appel and the Office of Development Team
Greenwich United Way: Greenwich COVID-19 Community Relief Fund
The Greenwich COVID-19 Community Relief Fund (Fund) has been established to be used for the relief of economic hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis to agencies located in Greenwich providing aid, assistance and relief to Greenwich residents.
The new Fund will rapidly deploy resources to trusted, front line community organizations that meet the basic needs of Greenwich. This includes low-income individuals without health insurance and/or access to sick days; immigrants; persons with disabilities; among others.
The Fund’s purpose is to help alleviate the social and economic consequences of this global pandemic and to prevent the widening of disparities in education, employment, housing, and health.
The Greenwich COVID-19 Community Relief Fund will be managed much the same way as our current Community Investment Process. Our Grants Committee will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis to ensure funds are released to community organizations as the needs arise.
The Town of Greenwich BET (Board of Estimate and Taxation) seeded the fund with a $100,000 grant by unanimous vote on March 16.
Town of Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo said, “Public – private partnerships are critical to our towns future vitality, and at no time will that be more important than now with this new initiative between the town, the Greenwich United Way, and private citizens. I am very proud that the town stepped up to offer the first $100,000 of this endeavor, and urge all of our private citizens to join this effort so that we can help the most vulnerable among us get through this trying time. Together, we will get through this pandemic with a strong, unified, and coordinated effort.”
Please make a contribution today to help fellow residents at this time.
Filling in the Blanks
Help Fight Childhood Hunger during the COVID-19 Crisis with Filling in the Blanks.
To combat the loss of lunches for children who are no longer able to attend school, Filling in the Blanks distributed supplementary weekend bags last week to several of our schools before their closures were announced in Norwalk, Stamford, and Greenwich, CT. We will continue to deliver weekend bags at distribution sites to guarantee the children will continue to have the nutrition that their growing minds and bodies need.
Many restaurants and local businesses are creating GoFundMe pages to support staff and employees. Please email marketing@greenwichchamber to include your Greenwich business GoFundMe page or other donation instructions.
