Eastern Philosophies’ focus on self-reflection is having widespread influence in leadership theory and in medicine. In this first series on Eastern Philosophy, Stewart Monday and Sensei Jonathan Simon will lead a round-table seminar of the Advaita Vedanta and Chan Buddhism. The 8-week series, sponsorsed by India Cultural Center of Greenwich, will examine Indian philosophical and intellectual traditions ranging from the self, reality, suffering and mindfulness. ICC is a non-secular organization. Those interested in philosophical traditions are invited to join the conversation.
Sensei Jonathan Simon earned a BA and MA in philosophy and classical studies from Tulane University. He is a Black Belt in Chinese Kempo and owner and chief instructor at Greenwich Kempo Academy of Martial Arts. Stewart Monday, Head of Advisor Productivity and Growth at UBS Wealth Management Americas, has an avid interest in Indian philosophy and has systematically studied Vedanta for the past 10 years.
