SUMMARY:Art to the Avenue: Opening Night
DESCRIPTION:Whatever the weather\, May is around the corner and Art to the Avenue is already preparing to be in full bloom in Greenwich.\n\n			 \n\n			During three jam-packed recent days\, over one hundred artists and an equal number of Greenwich Avenue Retailers crowded into the Greenwich Arts Center to make their selections for Art to the Avenue. Now in its twentieth year Art to the Avenue is the largest arts celebration of its kind in Greenwich. \n\n			 \n\n			As shown here\, retailers peruse the work of about 120 artists on display\, having a chance to interact with them\, and ultimately select whose works they might want to show in their stores or shop windows. The process is always a discovery and a great deal of fun is enjoyed by all participating. \n\n			 \n\n			Typically\, over 100 venues participate and the Opening on Thursday\, May 4\, from 5:30 to 8pm is truly a gigantic street happening all along the Avenue\, as the streets are filled with musician\, dancers\, and other performers. Most retailers hold public receptions for both visitors and the exhibiting artists.
