Been There Got Out
Divorce and Family Mediation
Lisa is the co-founder of Been There Got Out, which offers expert, strategic guidance to people in high-conflict relationships, divorce, and co-parenting situations so that they have the best chance of a positive outcome in court and beyond.
Lisa is a state-certified certified domestic violence advocate and warrior in her seventh year in the court system dealing with a toxic ex. She has represented herself (pro se) successfully on both the trial and appellate court levels through dozens of appearances. Her case was published in Connecticut Law Journal (March 23, 2021) to be used as legal precedent in CT.
Lisa's live testimony and advocacy helped pass Jennifers’ Law in Connecticut, only the third state in America to expand its legal definition of domestic violence to include “coercive control.” She recently started her Legal Abuse Support Group with her partner, a certified High Conflict Divorce Coach, which provides expert guidance, support, and strategy so that victims can keep themselves and children safe.
