Greenwich Alliance for Education's 8th Annual Turkey Trot
All runners and walkers are invited to participate in the Greenwich Alliance for Education’s 8th Annual Turkey Trot, to be held on Saturday, November 24. The 1 mile fun run/walk will start at 9:30am and the 5K will start at 10:00am. Beginning early October, those interested can register online at www.greenwichalliance.org. Registration fee is $30 per adult ($40 on race day) and $15 per child 14 and under. T-shirts and goody bags are guaranteed to runners registered by Wednesday, November 14. Founded in 2006 as a way for the Greenwich community to support the public school system, the Alliance funds innovation to elevate student achievement for all GPS students, expands educational opportunities for underserved students, and inspires educators. Our programs include: “Reaching Out Grants”, grants awarded to fund pilot innovative programs in our schools; "Tuning In To Music”, free instrumental music lessons for students unable to afford this opportunity; “College Assistance Program (CAP)”, mentoring and scholarships for AVID students in college; Early Childhood Education though the “Greenwich United Way–Early Childhood Achievement Gap Solutions Direct Impact program.
