Book Talk: Hidden History of Colonial Greenwich
Please join the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society in Westport, CT on March 20, 2018 for a book talk and reception. NYG&B Board of Trustee member Missy Wolfe will speak about her new book, Hidden History of Colonial Greenwich, at 7pm at the Saugatuck Congregational Church. The town of Greenwich, CT was Dutch at first, not English, as most histories proclaim. Peter Stuyvesant then purchased the town to block a rising English tide as Greenwich strategically defined the border between New Netherland and New England. Ms. Wolfe’s unearthing of the town’s 1600s struggles and its incarnation as the Greenwich Plantation offers researchers rich lessons in history research and resources. Please be sure to stay after the book talk and join us for a short reception. We hope that you will be able to join us for what is sure to be a fascinating evening! This event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required at newyorkfamilyhistory.org/events.
